First Start

The viewer should start immediately after the wizard, you can always restart it from the menu

Start > BusinessLog

The login asks for user and password (you have already entered it in the wizard) to access the program.

NB: if the login window takes more than 30 seconds to open, it is likely that you have TCP port 13 to the NIST server, not enabled.

NB: IF at this stage the system displays a “Corrupt or Missing License” error and continuously proposes

the initial wizard, it is a sign that the machine has not allowed you to write a registry key:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\KeyBlog]

"MyKeyBlog"="YOUR ASSIGNED ID" (you will have to enter the UserID assigned to the license)

The first screen will look like this:

Don't worry, there are only a few steps left:

TO OPENING THE PROGRAM FOR THE FIRST TIME, click on Settings.

The configuration window appears like this:

Leave the default boxes as they are (you can change them later)

Then go to the “XML Secondary Storage” section

image.png

The window allows you to generate xml files (encrypted) in the specified folder, so as to have a backup copy of the recorded logs.
Here you can enable encrypted storage (per machine and/or monthly) and select a valid folder (pay attention to write permissions), by clicking on the icon.
You can also select just one option: in the first case there will be a file for each machine (divided by year), e.g.: PC-MARIO-2022.xml, in the second case a file for each month (e.g. 12-2022) with, inside, all the machines of that specific month.

In the “network” section

Specify the type of machine search (eventually write the IP ranges of all your subnets)

by pressing the [Ab] button

The “Waiting days” box notifies, in the machine list and, with a summary, in the evening notification email,

the machines that, despite having received logs in the previous days, have not recorded logs for X days (default = 10).

Multi-domain mode: it should be activated ONLY if there are 2 or more domains (the PC names with the domain suffix will be inventoried, e.g. PC-Mario.domain1.local and PC-Mario.domain2.local)

In the “Automatic notifications” section

image.png

The mail settings activate the automatic evening notification in which the program sends an email with:

• Number of logged logs and number of System Administrators logsa
• Number of failed login attempts
• Database size
• Significant variations in Registrations for each machine
• Indications on machines that have stopped logging for more than 10 days

Here you can set, in addition to a custom subject, also the SMTP parameters with which to send the email.
NB: BusinessLog has an internal account with which to send emails, specify the smtp parameters ONLY if you want to customize them or if you are using a proxy server for which it is necessary to enter the correct credentials.

If so, make sure port 465 is allowed to the mail.businesslog.cloud server.

Then go back to the “Settings” section and start the service (make sure you have followed the instructions on preparing the service)

After the service is started, logs will start arriving and will be visible in the viewer.

The AI Analysis button, located in the Configuration section, enables the analysis of BusinessLog settings through artificial intelligence and highlights any potential issues.
