Sending Email With Office 365 Mailboxes

If you need to use an Office 365 account in your email sending settings, configuration must be performed in multiple places.

This is because Microsoft no longer allows the use of SMTP without authorization in your Azure tenant.

Step 1
Set the O365 mailbox as both Email Address and User.

In the SMTP Server, enter: smtp.office365.com
Complete the configuration by entering the mailbox password in the corresponding field.

  • Port: 587

  • Authentication: Yes

  • Use SSL: No

  • Use TLS: Yes

Step 2
As described in the Azure Log Logging procedure (see page 66), you need to authorize the application at the Tenant level and grant permissions on Microsoft Graph for:

  • Mail.Send

Step 3
In Settings > Cloud > Azure, click the Edit (pen) icon at the bottom.

The following window will open:

Enter the three parameters specified in the Azure Tenant, and select the Use Mail Account option in the corresponding tenant. The sender mailbox must be part of the Azure AD (enter the ID).
