Secondary Storage

Secondary storage records the same logs in encrypted xml files, the archives can be used both for a security backup and for comparison with the logs recorded in the main database.

Generate archives for each machine: enable secondary logging to encrypted xml files.

Perform monthly archiving: if selected, an additional archive of the previous month will be produced.

XML files path: the folder where the XML files will be stored.

​

Working Log Retention Days: Days that logs are retained for the WorkingLog grid (30 days recommended, DO NOT set retention less than 14 days to allow effective Machine Learning control).

Enable Automatic Backups: Activate the automatic procedure (nightly) for the Maintenance, Compaction and Archiving operations of the db.
By activating the option, every night the system CLOSES all the procedures (even the BusinessLog interface, if operational) and performs the following operations for all the db:

- Preventive Repair (repairs a db with corrupt rows)
- Compaction (frees up unallocated space in the db)
- Backup (performs a backup and moves the files. BackupCopy to the specified folder)

Once the operations are completed, the services are automatically restarted, these operations may take a long time, refer to the regBack.log file to evaluate the timing.

NB: The Syslog and RTServer processes are NOT interrupted to ensure reception continuity.
